TEACHERS and pupils got a welcome visit from an architect who once transformed their school.

Albert Booth was responsible for updating Scholes Junior and Infants School at Holmfirth back in the 1970s and he returned to meet with the school’s council.

His visit also gave children the opportunity to ask questions about the time he was involved in updating the school.

During his time working for Abbey Hanson Row and Partners Mr Booth developed a new square hall, created a library in an old hall, replaced the outdoor toilets with indoor ones and a cloakroom and built two classrooms in the basement.
