A man admitted his part in a town centre disturbance involving Huddersfield Town and Leeds United fans.

Richard Taylor, 53, of Victoria Road, Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury, admitted criminal damage at the offices of GT Taxis in Lord Street, Huddersfield.

Leeds fans waiting for a taxi inside the offices were reportedly surrounded by Town supporters and a window was smashed.

The incident happened on Saturday, November 7, just hours after Town’s 3-0 Championship defeat to arch rivals Leeds.

Taylor admitted damaging a window at GT Taxis and was given a conditional discharge when he appeared before Kirklees magistrates in Huddersfield.

Another man also charged will appear at Leeds Crown Court in January.
