PROPERTY agents in Yorkshire are predicting increased workloads for 2013.

The latest construction market survey by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors showed that 25% of members polled in the region expect to be busier during the coming 12 months – after what was a “horrendous” year for the sector.

The increased optimism reflects a small rise in reported workloads in the final quarter of 2012 when a net balance of 10% more respondents reported increased activity – with the most substantial gains coming in private housing and private commercial development.

Across the country, London and the South East and the North of England saw the biggest increase in overall workloads.
