Roadworks have partially closed a Huddersfield road for a month.

Engineers have started work on laying new power cables and water mains in Crosland Road and have shut the road from the junction with Lindley Moor Road to the junction with Cowrakes Road.

A traffic light system is in use to divert motorists around the works, which are set to last until November 20

Workmen are excavating a trench along a 500-metre stretch of Crosland Road for the installation of power cables by Balfour Beatty including jointing works and for the installation of a rising water main by Harron Homes.

Both companies are building dozens of new homes in the area.
