WORK will be carried out on a busy road following concerns raised by councillors.

St Mary’s Lane in Kirkheaton, from School Lane to the junction with Shop Lane, will be resurfaced by Kirklees Council between tomorrow and next Friday.

It follows calls from Dalton ward councillors Roger Battye and Rochelle Parchment for improvements

Clr Battye said: “It’s a heavily used road with a dangerous bend and the broken up surface was posing a threat to drivers and pedestrians”

Clr Parchment added: “With the winter coming this is the right time for the council to sort out the situation.”

Work will be completed during off-peak hours.
