A TEENAGER was robbed of his mobile phone and cash on Christmas day.

Detectives are hunting for a white man with ginger hair after a 15-year-old was threatened as he walked across Rastrick Common.

The incident happened at about 9:15pm at the junction of Rastrick Common and Scholey Road.

The boy was approached and pushed by the assailant, who demanded his mobile phone.

Fearing for his safety the 15-year-old handed it over along with £60 in cash.

He was not harmed.

The suspect is thought to be about 18-years-old.

He is described as thin with ginger hair, about 6ft tall wearing a dark coloured coat.

It is believed that the suspect was in the Rastrick Common area with two other men before the robbery took place.
