A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was punched in the face during a street robbery.

The youngster was cycling along Bradford Road in Fartown when an older youth on another bike deliberately crashed into him at 5.30pm on Monday.

The victim was sent sprawling to the ground.

He was then forced up an unmade road, pushed face-first against a wall and the attacker held him while an accomplice rifled through his pockets.

They stole a small amount of money and his baseball cap.

They also took a chain from around his neck and when he grabbed it back he was hit in the face and suffered a burst lip.

The thieves fled.

One of the thugs is mixed race, aged about 14, and around 6ft tall.

He wore a blue hooded top with white writing on it along with a white baseball cap.

His accomplice is white, aged 14 or 15, heavily-built and wore a blue hooded top.
