TWO middle-aged men robbed a Holme Valley store at knifepoint.

The men walked into the Londis store on Woodhead Road, Holmbridge, at 10pm on Saturday.

The threatened the woman working there with a knife and grabbed cash from the till before walking out.

One of the robbers spoke to the victim in a Liverpudlian accent.

Police are appealing for help in catching the thieves and have issued detailed descriptions of them.

Detective Constable Dave Kinghorn, of Huddersfield police intelligence unit, said: "Did anyone see these men once they left the shop? Did they get in a car? "

The man with the knife who spoke is white, in his mid-40s, 5ft 6in tall and slim.

He wore a black or navy blue coat with the hood up, a blue woolly hat beneath it and blue woolly gloves.

He was also carrying a blue Reebok bag with red piping on it.

His accomplice is white, in his mid to late-50s and 6ft tall. He is slim, with a ginger moustache that is going grey.

He wore gold-rimmed glasses with round lenses, a navy blue or black waterproof hooded anorak and blue jeans.
