A THUG who led a gang which robbed a man in his home has been locked up for four-and- a-half years.

Bradford Crown Court heard that when Simon Cook, of Rawthorpe, came home three robbers confronted him.

One, Ricardo Aslam, was at the top of the stairs holding a gun, said prosecutor Paul Nicholson.

Mr Cook heard the gun being cocked and Aslam told him: "You have everything. I have nothing. You have the car, laptops and I have nothing."

A second member of the gang, Sajahad Hussain, then climbed on the bed and grabbed Mr Cook's mobile phone.

Aslam demanded that Mr Cook hand over his credit cards, pin numbers, car keys and a laptop.

Mr Cook told them to go away, but the third robber, Fahad Khan, punched him three or four times in the face, said Mr Nicholson.

Mr Cook began screaming and Aslam told him to shut up. But Khan and Hussain ran off.

Aslam then pointed the gun at Mr Cook, before saying: "I am sorry."

He then ran away.

Aslam told police the motive was jealousy. Mr Cook had so many things they did not have. He also said he was "pretty mashed" on alcohol and cannabis.

Hussain initially denied being involved, but later admitted taking part. He said he was shocked when Aslam produced the gun, which fired plastic pellets.

Aslam, 18, of Bishop's Court, Berry Brow, admitted robbery and possessing an imitation firearm.

Judge Roger Scott said Aslam was the ringleader and sent him to a young offenders' institution.

Khan, 22, of Honoria Street, Fartown, and Hussain, 21, of Clara Street, Hillhouse, admitted robbery and were jailed for 30 months.
