A MAN was robbed as he walked home near a canal in Huddersfield.

The 36-year-old was walking home from his ex-partner’s house in Rawthorpe when the incident happened on March 25.

He had crossed Leeds Road near the retail park at Bradley Mills and was walking over a bridge on the Calder and Hebble Navigation Canal when he was approached by two men between 10.30pm and 11pm.

One grabbed his arms and ordered him to empty his pockets.

The victim handed over £50 and the two men ran off along the canal tow path.

The man was shaken but not hurt.

Both robbers were about 6ft tall and stockily built.

They were wearing dark clothes and hooded tops with the hoods pulled over their faces.
