A FARTOWN student is preparing to take the capital by storm after securing a place at a performance academy.

Talented Rohan Pinnock- Hamilton, 18 , has been offered a scholarship at the Urdang Academy in London's Covent Garden after impressing tutors with his drama, dance and singing skills.

The former Rastrick High School pupil applied for the place after spending the last year studying performing arts in Blackpool.

He was invited to an audition in June and was delighted when he was called back and then offered a scholarship for three years - worth £30,000.

Rohan, of Dewhirst Road, said: "I am very happy I got in.

"There will be a lot more opportunities down there and I will be introduced to a lot of directors and producers."

Rohan, who has been learning drama since he was six and dancing since he was three, said he hoped to pursue a career in theatre or film.

"I'm not sure which I prefer but I would love to get to Hollywood one day," he said.

"I hope to get some really good training down there."

He will take up the place in London this week.
