A Dewsbury man has appeared in court after driving a car allegedly bearing an altered number plate.

Romulus-Remus Muresan, of Ravens Crescent, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

He denies a charge of fraudulently using a registration mark.

A number on the number plate of the blue Honda Civic he was driving was allegedly changed using masking tape.

Muresan, 37, did plead guilty to charges of driving whilst disqualified and using a vehicle without insurance.

The offences were said to have occurred at Huddersfield Road in Dewsbury on May 26.

His trial will be held on August 19 at the court in Huddersfield.

Unconditional bail was granted.
