A BOY has been given greater independence in his own home thanks to Huddersfield Pendragon Round Table.
Nine-year-old Anthony Kay has received an electric stair lift to help him get around at his Crosland Hill home.
Anthony has cerebral palsy and walks with crutches.
His mum Ms Valentina McParland explained: "Last year we had an extension built on to the house for Anthony, but we just couldn't afford a stair lift to give him access to all areas of the house."
Valentina, who is a member of the Kirklees Parent and Carers Forum, heard about the help which Huddersfield Pendragon Round Table gives to families in some circumstances and got in touch.
She said: "We are extremely grateful. We couldn't have put the stair lift in if it hadn't been for them.
"Anthony feels included in everything now and can spend time with his seven-year-old sister Catherine and her friends downstairs."
Andrew Spencer, chairman of Huddersfield Pendragon Round Table, said: "We are very happy to support Anthony and his family with the purchase of this stair lift and are delighted to work with Peter of Driveability who was able to offer us a good deal.
"This meant that we were able to provide a top of the range model that will last Anthony into adulthood."
