RUNNERS are being invited to take part in a five-mile charity race.
The Hepworth Dryad run takes place on Sunday, June 26.
The run through the village’s picturesque countryside was started four years ago by Honley businesswoman Paula Moss.
She launched the fundraiser in memory of a close friend, who died from cancer. But what was meant to be a one-off event grew from strength to strength and has since raised thousands of pounds.
The charity that will be supported this year is to be decided shortly.
But good causes that have benefited from the race in previous years are Prof Robert Winston’s Women for Women charity, the male cancer charity Orchid and the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust. The run has also become a real community event, bringing people of all backgrounds together.
Registration for the event costs £8 for club runners and £10 for non-club runners.
Sponsor forms are available on request.
Those wishing to get involved as a sponsor or volunteer would also be welcomed.
