SIX workmates raised about £2,500 for charity by completing the Great North Run.
Tony Joyce, Darren Dawson, Matthew Verity, Steve Butterworth, Paul Mitchell and Phil Tinsley all ran the 13-mile race from Gateshead to South Shields last Sunday.
The men, who all work at Brighouse air conditioning firm Marstair, were running in memory of two good friends, Jack Burgin and James Greenwood.
Mr Burgin died from septicaemia in May and Mr Greenwood died from meningitis. All the proceeds raised by the six men will go to the Meningitis Foundation, to pay for research into the disease.
Mr Joyce, 41, of Moldgreen, completed the race in one hour and 50 minutes.
He received sponsorship pledges totalling £1,000 and now faces the task of collecting it.
He said: "It's difficult for me to get in touch with everyone. It is easier if they get in touch with me."
Mr Joyce can be contacted on 07939355821.
Mr Dawson completed the race in one hour 55 minutes, Mr Verity's time was two hours and 22 minutes, Mr Butterworth ran it in two hours and 32 minutes, Mr Mitchell clocked up two hours and 26 minutes and Mr Tinsley had a time of three hours and 22 minutes.
The five raised about £300 each.
