DEFIANT Saddleworth residents will hold their annual Yorkshire Day celebration again.

The village was absorbed into Greater Manchester in 1974 but historically has been part of West Yorkshire.

The event on Sunday, August 2 will be at the museum car park in Uppermill.

Following speeches music will be provided by Diggle Brass Band.

The band will then lead a parade along High Street to King George Playing Field where attractions will include a duck race, clowns, farm animals, a bouncy castle, quilting and dry stone walling demos and various food and craft stalls. For further info call Brenda Cockayne: 01457 874686
