Sadistic rapist Jamie McGregor has been jailed for an attack in Huddersfield.

The drug dealer has been locked up for a total of 14 years after he raped one of his clients, a woman addict in her own home.

And he threatened to slit her throat if she told anyone.

Leeds Crown Court heard McGregor was already on bail for assaulting a policeman and having a bladed article when he went to his victim’s flat in Huddersfield in August last year and tricked his way inside.

Jailing him Recorder Benjamin Nolan QC said the woman had made the mistake of telling McGregor at a previous meeting that her partner would not be present.

“Taking advantage of that knowledge she would be alone, you went to her home early in the morning and banged on her bedroom window. She let you in and you started to attack her.”

He said the woman had only opened the door to him because of their drug connection. Her ordeal lasted around 30 minutes and involved “considerable violence.”

He had not used any contraceptive subjecting her to the risk of pregnancy and disease and when she complained of pain “you made the repeated comment ‘pain is good’ suggesting to me there was a sadistic element to this attack.”

Recorder Nolan said McGregor was aware of the woman’s vulnerability.

“You were aware she was a drug addict because you were her supplier. She trusted you and that was the reason why she let you into the flat. You betrayed that trust.

“This was a particularly unpleasant and degrading combination of offences against a vulnerable young woman.

“Afterwards you left her further terrified by the parting shot that if she told anyone you would personally return and slit her throat. Given your conviction for having a bladed article I am satisfied that was not an empty threat.”

McGregor, 25, of North Carr Croft, Dalton, was found guilty by a jury on two charges of rape and one of attempt rape on the woman for which he was jailed for 13 years. He was sentenced to one year consecutive for having a bladed article outside a club and assaulting a PC on an earlier date and also admitted possessing four wraps of cocaine.

The court heard after her ordeal the victim felt she could not remain in her flat and is still suffering depression and flashbacks. She had installed extra security in her new home but that made her feel like she was living in a prison “because I’m wary of anything happening to me.”
