A GAS company wants to stop people falling down its holes.
There have been a number of accidents where people have tumbled over roadworks after safety barriers have been moved or blown over.
Now gas pipeline company Transco has urged people to phone a special number if they see barriers which have fallen or been moved.
Harry Buchanan, head of operations for the east of England, said: "Transporting gas is an essential day to day event. The gas network is largely out of sight and out of mind.
"However, we sometimes need to dig up roads and footpaths to carry out repairs or upgrade a service."
The number is 0800 111 999.
