THE family of missing Golcar dad Steven Cooper have raised £286 to fund the search for him.

They organised a cake and jumble sale at New Mill Club.

Steven vanished just after celebrating his 47th birthday in 2008.

His car was later found by a remote Scottish loch called Loch Laggan and police recently said it was “unlikely” there would be a detailed search of the water.

The money raised from the sale will go towards paying a Yeovil company called Liquavision to use high technology sonar equipment to search the loch.

Steven’s sister Trish Cooper said: “Huge thanks go to New Mill Club for letting us use the room for free, JJ’s Cafe at Crosland Moor who donated a huge amount of cheesecakes and cakes and Riverside Cafe in Holmfirth, who donated a massive pile of scones and a meal voucher that we can raffle off.

“Also Amanda Hellawell who made some gorgeous sweet bags, Louise Smith who donated 70 buns, Paula Mosley and Jill Derrick for helping out on the stalls and everyone else who donated items and attended.

“We really could not raise money without all your support.”
