You'll be able to start Christmas with a dash this year ... around town.
For a Santa Dash is going to be held in the town centre on Sunday December 8 after last year’s 230 runners raised £16,000 for charity.
Once again the event will be organised by Huddersfield Lions and they have invited charities and anyone interested in taking part to an information evening next week.
The launch meeting will be at Lindley Liberal Club at Occupation Road, Lindley, on Wednesday from 7.30pm.
The event will be sponsored by Armitage’s Garden Centres, which means the entry fee can be cut by half.
The company is also providing the top raffle prize – £100 in Armitage’s gift coins to spend at the Shelley or Birchencliffe garden centres.
Huddersfield Lions president Andrew Thornes said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for charities – especially small, local ones. The Lions do all the organising which may be beyond the resources of some smaller charities, freeing them up to focus on signing up runners.”
The entry fee is £5 for adults, inclusive of Santa suit, or £2.50 for under-11s – which includes antlers and red nose.
Entry forms will also be at Armitage’s Garden Centres and on the Lions website after the meeting.
