THERE are very few of us who can claim to own our own business and still be in our teens.

But Huddersfield teenager Sarah Foster is one of those as she bids to make it big with the launch of her own design shop.

The 18-year-old has just finished a national diploma in textiles at Dewsbury College and no sooner is she leaving the classroom behind than beginning her climb to being a budding business entrepreneur.

With the help of her parents, Sarah opened Roobarb in Marsden. It is a textile shop selling items Sarah has made herself ranging from furniture to jewellery along with hand-made crafts and gifts such as cushions, bags and purses.

Sarah, of Scapegoat Hill, said: “I love my designs to be original and quirky, something different to what anybody else has seen before. I’ve always loved designing things and it has always been my dream to one day open my own business so it’s a very exciting time.

“What more can I ask for – I get to be my own boss and continue to do what I love doing, designing things to be sold in my shop.”
