A CARAVAN was destroyed in a mindless arson attack.

The vehicle was next to the wall of the owners’ property on High Road in Earlsheaton, Dewsbury, when it was set alight at about 2am on Friday.

Two fire engines from Dewsbury Fire Station attended the incident.

Watch manager Anthony Woodhead said: "Our concern was that it didn't spread to the gas cylinders. Fortunately we were able to make an attack and get to the cylinders before the fire did."

The caravan was completely gutted, but there was no damage to the house and no-one was hurt.
