A JOINERY escaped major damage after two stolen scooters were set on fire outside.

The blaze spread from the bikes to bags of sawdust piled outside AJ Pine on Bradford Road in Brighouse at about 4.50am on Saturday.

A crew from Brighouse Fire Station was called to tackle the fire.

They spent about an hour-and-a-half using one hose reel to extinguish the blaze.

The factory suffered some heat damage, including melted guttering, but nothing more serious.

Both bikes were destroyed.
