KIND-HEARTED pupils at Moorlands Primary School in Mount, Outlane, have raised £8,395 for charity.
Children at the school have taken part in money-raising events throughout the year for several different good causes.
They raised £5,322 for Leukaemia Research in memory of Ayesha Yasin, a Year 5 pupil who died from leukaemia in 2005. They held a series of 26 sponsored challenges. Children in Years 4, 5, and 6 raised £2,716 for the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust, which aims to create a children’s hospice and respite centre in Brackenhall.
Pupils also took part in a ‘wrong trousers’ event which made £357, to help brighten the days of sick children in local hospitals.
The school celebrated the end of term with a show by Year 6 pupils, entitled Decades Performance.
