A GRANGE MOOR school has won two health awards from Kirklees Council.

Upper Whitley Junior and Infant School has been given the Kirklees Healthy Schools Award and the Kirklees Healthy Schools Standard Gold.

The first award involved staff, students, parents and governors working to meet nine criteria, including healthy eating, creating a good learning environment and working towards well-being.

The second award required them to meet further criteria in three areas – physical education, healthy eating and Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE).

Joanne Lilley, PSHE co-ordinator at the school, said: “We have put a lot of hard work in so we are absolutely delighted to receive the awards.”
