SCHOOLS are being asked to back a campaign to keep children’s heart surgery services.
All schools and businesses in Yorkshire are being urged to show their support for the Save Our Surgery (SOS) bid.
They can do this by holding a Wear Red fundraising day on December 7.
It was announced earlier this year that the Leeds Children’s Heart Surgery Unit is to be axed.
This followed a national review of children’s heart surgery delivery by the Joint Committee of Primary Care Trusts.
SOS was established in September to challenge the decision.
Funds raised will help pay for the Judicial Review Case.
The Wear Red campaign was launched by Leeds mum Carmen Greene, whose five-year-old son needs surgery for his heart condition.
