A SPRINKLING of magic was in the air at Christchurch Woodhouse school, Deighton.

Award-winning Magic Circle Young Magician of the Year, Michael Jordan, cast a spell on pupils that will hopefully last a lifetime.

Michael, 20, of Hi Jinx Magic, gave a very intimate performance as part of the prize to six Future Factor art and creative writing competition winners and their friends.

Future Factor Academy is a programme of workshops designed to help 13 to 16-year-olds expand their horizons and give them a taste of possible careers.

Michael, from Huddersfield, is making his own dreams come true byforging a highly successful career on stage and TV.

A Future Factor Academy was run to enable young people to try a range of new experiences and meet and interview people about their jobs and how they got there, including shark divers, actors and theatre technicians, Huddersfield University staff and even an artist who is also a farmer.

Headteacher Jennifer Davies said: “The Future Factor project really captured the imagination of our pupils.

“They came up with some super ideas about what they might aim for career-wise.The whole thing was a brilliant idea and we have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the project.”
