LOCAL primary schools have received praise from Schools Minister David Laws.
Mr Laws has written to a number of schools in the Kirklees and Calderdale area, praising them on recent test performances.
The Kirklees schools praised were Wilberlee Junior and Infant School, Slaithwaite, and Holme Junior and Infant School in Holme village.
The Calderdale schools were the Greetland Academy, Heptonstall Junior Infant and Nursery School, New Road Primary School and St Joseph's Catholic Primary School.
Letters were written to the 100 schools showing the most sustained improvement in each year between 2009-2012, in the national SATS tests in English and maths.
