PUPILS at a Huddersfield school turned detective during a two-day mystery event.

Children from the foundation stage through to the after- 16s at Castle Hill School, Newsome, had to investigate the disappearance of the colours from the rainbow which forms the school logo.

They took on the role of various famous detectives, including Scooby Doo, the Pink Panther, Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple, and took part in a variety of activities to solve the crime.

Actors from Huddersfield-based Proper Job Theatre Company helped staff at the school, which caters for children with severe and complex learning difficulties, to write the script for the event, provide training ideas and resources.

The project was part of Kirklees’ Arts for All scheme, which aims to gets schools working with local arts organisations to offer a new approach to teaching and learning .
