A PUBLISHING company has now set up residence at Huddersfield University.

Comma Press has become the town’s newest publisher in residence thanks to a link-up with the university.

Senior lecturers Michael Stewart and David Gill helped to secure the move for Comma Press, previously based in Manchester.

And they hope it will lead to more publications coming out of the town.

They are currently working on a sci-fi anthology based on the theory of science. To celebrate the link-up, the university and Comma Press will host a celebratory event at the Peacock Lounge in Huddersfield tomorrow starting at 7.30pm.

Mr Stewart said: “Ultimately we hope it will lead to more books and anthologies being produced from here.

“Everybody knows that Oxford and Manchester as its own publisher in residence and now we have too.

“It will benefit local writers, our students and Comma.

“Huddersfield always had a rich diversity of literacy ventures and a heritage we could be proud of, we’re glad to be taking that forward now.”

Anyone is welcome to attend the launch night at the Peacock Lounge, Viaduct Street, where tickets are £5 or free with a copy of this story.
