A TEENAGE girl badly hurt in a road smash remains critically ill in hospital.
The youngster was flown by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance direct from the scene in Newsome to Leeds General Infirmary.
She had suffered serious head injuries but is said to be stable in the hospital.
The girl and a friend - both aged 15 - were on an Aprilia moped which hit a parked Range Rover on Edale Avenue near its junction with Berry View just before 2pm on Wednesday.
After the crash police sealed off the road for several hours while accident investigation experts worked at the scene.
