A TWO-WHEELED invasion will be heading for Lepton next week.

The Yorkshire Scooter Alliance is holding its annual rally and is expecting a spectacular attendance.

Around 1,500 scooters will rev into the village for the Alliance’s Invasion 4 rally at Lepton Highlanders Sports Club on July 13, 14 and 15.

The Invasion events have been held for four years – but only moved to Lepton from Sheffield last year, thanks to Huddersfield Scooter Club.

The club is one of 80 affiliated to the Yorkshire Scooter Alliance – the biggest in the country with more than 4,000 members.

The rally will feature a custom show, with 26 trophies for the best customised scooters, and a parts and merchandise fair.

There will be music from six live bands and a ‘battle of the bands’ contest, plus DJs from across Yorkshire.

Jason Taylor, chairman of Huddersfield Scooter Club, said: “It’s a weekend to have a drink and a dance and not have to worry about having a ride out.

It is a chance to get together, but there is still stiff competition in the custom show, there’s some stunning bikes.

“It’s a huge event. That’s why we moved to Lepton. Lepton is the perfect venue. I feel very proud that an event of this magnitude is coming to our town.”

Anyone is welcome to attend, whether or not they are Alliance members.
