SCOUTS got a new minibus after help from the community.

Freemasons from the Huddersfield Unity Lodge donated £1,000 and F & G Commercials in Bradley gave Huddersfield North District Scouts a big discount when they purchased their new £7,000 minibus.

The minibus will now be available for use by all district scouts in West Yorkshire.

Andrea Scrutton, assistant district commissioner said: “This minibus will not only allow us to run more events but it will enable us to take our scouts to more events if their parents are not able to drop them off.”

Huddersfield North District currently has 578 scouts. The scouts provide adventurous activities and character building activities for young people aged between 6 and 25.
