A DRIVER abandoned a car after it crashed into a lamp-post in Cooper Bridge on Monday night.
Firefighters from Brighouse were called to the scene of the smash in Wakefield Road around 8.30pm.
A VW Polo vehicle had left the road and collided with a lamp-post, but the driver could not be found despite a search mounted by police.
Firefighters made the scene safe.
The incident caused long tailbacks in the area.
