AN ugly thief was spotted trying to break into a village house.
He is thought to be responsible for a burglary at another house in the Wooldale area about the same time.
He tried to get in a house on Bill Lane at about 3pm on Friday, but fled empty- handed.
Between 3pm and 4pm thieves stole a portable CD player, a Playstation 2, a DVD player and DVDs from a Cliffe Lane house.
The thief is white, in his mid-20s and 5ft 10in with a crooked nose and a bad complexion.
