A YOUNG girl is searching for two ponies which have been let loose from a field at Slaithwaite.

Cathy Roberts, 13, spent last night searching for the two ponies which her family have owned for years.

They were with another pony in a field at Shaw Carr Farm, West Slaithwaite, but someone opened the latched gate and either stole them or let them wander off.

Cathy's mum Melanie Roberts said: "The older one, Frisky, has been with us for the past 21 years.

"The second pony is her daughter, Little Frisky, who we have had since she was born eight years ago.

"Both ponies are very well-known in the area.

"We don't know if they have been stolen or if someone has just opened the gate and let them go. I just hope someone can help us find them."

Frisky is a strawberry roan pony wearing a green winter blanket, while Little Frisky is a chestnut colour and was wearing a purple blanket.
