The search for a 12-year-old Huddersfield boy missing off the coast of Anglesey resumed this morning.

The boy had been on rocks with another child when he was swept into the water on Friday afternoon.

Frantic efforts of relatives to rescue him were unsuccessful and a major search operation including the coastguard, RNLI, RAF and police was launched.

In torrid conditions throughout the afternoon the boy could not be found.

Helicopters ad lifeboats were stood down on Friday evening with the coastline search continuing on land only.

This went on until a loss of light hampered efforts, and the search was called off for the day.
