THE hunt on is for young achievers in the area.

The Yorkshire Young Achiever Award 2012 hopes to recognise anyone under age 35 who has made an impact nationally, regionally or locally.

Sponsored by McCormicks solicitors, the Yorkshire Young Achievers Foundation has raised more than £900,000 for youngsters.

Awards chairman Peter McCormick OBE said: “We want to hear about young people who have made a difference.

“It doesn’t matter whether they are world famous or known only within their own community.

“What is important is that they have had an impact on the lives of others because of their talent, fortitude or determination to achieve a better life.”

The awards are open to young people who live, work or were born in Yorkshire in the fields of business, sport, education, the arts, overcoming adversity and achieving fame and fortune.

Winners will be announced at a dinner on November 29 at Leeds United Conference and Exhibition Centre.
