POLICE will be flagging down school buses this week to crack down on the number of children not wearing a seat belt.

Yellow school buses run by Metro will be pulled over and checks made to see if youngsters are safely fastened in their seats.

The initiative is being piloted in Calderdale and Sgt Garry Alderson, Calderdale road policing manager, said: “If you have a seatbelt in your vehicle, then you should be wearing it, full stop. There are no excuses.”
