A WOMAN was sexually assaulted after she was dragged into woods near Huddersfield town centre.

But the attacker fled after the woman screamed for help.

The woman, in her 40s, was walking along King’s Mill Lane at Aspley at 12.30am on Sunday when the attacker grabbed her.

She screamed and the man fled when passers-by heard her cries for help.

They, along with any other witnesses, are urged to come forward.

A police spokeswoman said: “The victim suffered minor injuries, but was left shaken by the incident and is being helped by specially-trained officers.”

Police are appealing for witnesses, including a young couple who passed the victim just before she was attacked.

The attacker is white, aged about 24 and about 5ft 10in tall. He is stocky with shaved fair hair.

He wore a grey hooded top with an emblem on the front, dark jeans and trainers.
