HUDDERSFIELD'S MP has attacked former Kirklees schools company Jarvis.
Barry Sheerman spoke out after he saw a catalogue of unfinished jobs during a high school visit.
Mr Sheerman, who is also chairman of the Commons Education Select Committee, called for maintenance jobs at Fartown High School to be completed.
During a visit he saw poor paintwork and paint splashed on windows.
He said: "I don't care what has happened.
"Whoever has responsibility must finish this to top standards - or else."
His comments came as Kirklees Council announced it was ending its Private Finance Initiative deal with troubled Jarvis, which was responsible for managing 19 schools in the district.
More than 300 cleaners and caretakers at Kirklees schools are understood to be affected by the move.
But unions believe job losses are not on the cards.
Mr Sheerman added: "I am very discontented with it. I want something done.
"It is sad the contract has ended in this way, but I hope the new arrangement will deliver the goods.
"I don't care who it is, as long as they are good and efficient and we have well- managed schools."
