A CAR smashed into a bus shelter near Huddersfield town centre.

Glass was shattered and the metal framework bent at the stop on Chapel Hill at 12.40pm yesterday.

Nobody was hurt. The white BMW was badly damaged at the front.

* Two cars were wrecked in a crash next to a traffic- calming measure.

The cars collided head-on at the pinch points on Woodhouse Hill, Fartown, at 10.10am yesterday.

A 63-year-old Deighton man driving a Ford Escort was slightly hurt. A man aged 20, driving a Fiat Punto, also received minor injuries.
