AN angry mum says her daughter’s dream wedding has turned into a nightmare after they were forced to wait months for their wedding photos.

Roz Mears, from Birdsedge says her daughter Steph’s £20,000 wedding has been soured by a stalemate with Shepley photographer John Edler.

Nearly four months after the fairytale wedding at Nostell Priory, Ms Mears says she has still not received £500 worth of wedding photos.

And she said, despite more than 50 phone calls and emails, it took three months for her daughter to get hers.

Now after months of, she claims, broken promises Ms Mears, 45, has launched court action in a bid for a refund.

She said: “It was a dream wedding with horse and carriages, the full works – and we’ve got no memories of it.

“Our bridal and parents’ albums were supposed to arrive four weeks after the wedding.

“He was great at first but we started having doubts about him because he kept saying the albums would be here in two weeks and then they wouldn’t arrive. We’d phone him and get no response.

“He kept blaming the production company in Italy but when we phoned them they said he hadn’t even ordered it.

“I asked him for a refund and for him to waiver his copyright so I can get the photos printed by someone else, but he refused unless a court ordered him to do it.

“My daughter suffers from arthritis, technically she’s disabled, and the one thing that sets her off is stress. He’s actually made her quite ill over this.

“It’s just got really messy and dirty.”

Mr Edler told the Examiner he regretted how long it was taking but said he didn’t think she had a “hope in hell” of getting her money back as timescales were not set in the contract.

He said: “I’ve explained to Ms Mears that I’ve had some technical difficulties.

“We’ve had some phone calls that I thought were quite unreasonable but I’ve done everything I said I would do, admittedly not as fast as I said I would.

“I intend to supply what I promised.”
