These shocking pictures show the devastation caused by a live lane breakdown on the M1.
West Yorkshire Police's roads unit tweeted the pictures this morning, saying the crash happened after a driver broke down on the M1 at J42, where the motorway joins the M62 - and was unable to get to the hard shoulder.
Miraculously the driver only suffered slight injuries in the crash and was able to get out of the car and call 999.
