A TOWN centre business is collecting Easter eggs to donate to women in need.

Staff at Rayner Opticians, based in the Piazza, are appealing to locals to help boost their chocolate collection.

All eggs donated will be given to Huddersfield Women’s Aid, which helps women and children fleeing or suffering domestic violence.

The shop’s Amy Roe said: “We did a toy collection at Christmas and they really appreciated that so we decided it would be nice to do a little something for them for Easter as well.

“Any eggs that people can donate – big or small – would be very gratefully received.”

People can help by dropping an Easter egg off with any staff member in the shop.

Eggs need to be donated by the end of March.
