A DALTON man appeared in court after stealing jeans from a town centre store.

Kevin Burns, of Ridgeway, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

He admitted stealing two pairs of jeans from budget clothing chain Primark on January 9.

The clothing swiped by the 33-year-old was worth a total of £20.

Mike Sisson-Pell, for Burns, asked magistrates to adjourn the case.

He said Burns faces further charges in the Huddersfield court on January 31.

Magistrates agreed to adjourn Burns' case until that date so that all of the matters can be dealt with together.

He was barred from entering the store in New Street, Huddersfield, as part of his bail conditions.
