VISITORS to Huddersfield got a shock when they saw iconic Star Wars characters patrolling New Street.

Film and music store, That’s Entertainment, enlisted the help of Imperial Stormtroopers to celebrate their first birthday.

But members of the 99th Imperial Garrison displayed their charitable side while in Huddersfield – collecting cash for Dreamflight, a charity which grants wishes for terminally ill and sick children.

Chris Slater, manager of the Huddersfield branch of That’s Entertainment said: “We are delighted that the Star Wars characters from the 99th Imperial Garrison came to our store to celebrate our first birthday.

“We have links with the garrison through a store manager in the North East and it was suggested we invite them to Huddersfield.

“It has been a great success and we are grateful for their support.”
