CHURCHGOERS took part in a challenging cycle ride.
Members of Upper Slaithwaite Church, known as The Shred, undertook a 30-mile bike ride –half of it off-road – to raise funds for the church.
The annual Pennine X Mountain Bike Challenge was first held in 2006. Since then, more than £1,600 has been raised for the church.
Radio Leeds presenter Paul Ogden was among those taking part in this year’s event.
The event was led by keen cyclists Gary Clay and Alison Buckle.
Said Gary: “The fundraising has been a great success, but perhaps as important is the fun and community spirit experienced by all who take part.
“The event offers participants the friendly welcome and hospitality known to all who are familiar with the Shred.”
