YOU'VE heard of "cash-back" - now it's "tache-back" time.

Huddersfield man Simon Netherwood is growing a moustache for charity.

The 29-year-old, from Edgerton, has pledged not to shave his top lip until October 1.

Simon, who works in the media, says: "I'm going to give it a whirl. I don't know whether I can grow a full Lord Kitchener by the end of the month.

"But I think I've got enough testosterone to get something growing up there. I'm filled with dread. But I'm curious, too. I've got sponsors - so there's no backing out."

Simon lists Terry Thomas, Lord Lucan and Prince in the movie Purple Rain as his favourite moustached icons. Other celebrated tache-cultivators include Groucho Marx, Charlie Chaplin and David Bedford.

Simon's efforts are in aid of the Everyman Cancer Research Institute charity, which is asking men to grow a tache to raise cash.
