A COUPLE were amazed when a Christmas card addressed to Mr and Mrs G Birtwhistle, Detached House, Cats, Dewsbury, reached them.
Recipients Gordon and Heather Birtwhistle thought it was a prank until they read the card to discover it was from Gordon's brother Ken.
Mr Birtwhistle said: "I just thought it was kids messing about. But when I opened it, it was from my brother Ken in Lancashire.
"He had lost his address book and couldn't remember our address so that's all he put on the envelope.
"That's just his sense of humour."
Mr Birtwhistle, who has two cats, praised the postal workers for their hard work in ensuring the card reached him.
A Royal Mail spokesman said: "It does cost more to deliver mail which isn't correctly addressed - particularly without a postcode - so we would appreciate it if it was addressed properly next time."
